Hi robbin!
let's take this from the ear. if you look at the properties of volume
control you should find individual controls and settings for two
things one is playback and the other is record. you can adjust the
playback settings such that say master out is at highest and each
other including wave sound is set to proportion. I play cds and wavs
a lot and play cds and use a software synth when necessary and can
hear both fine. the nice thing too is that now that we have control
over real player volume on the fly, if I find that it is too loud or
soft, I just adjust it during play.
