Hi, Marsha here. Yes, I am using medical transcription software. I am using
the Quick-Look Drug Index. As I am, to my knowledge, the first blind
transcriptionist to use this software, there are no scripts for this. I asked
Henter-Joyce if this software could be used and they did not know. In fact,
the Braille and Technology Center in Maryland run by the National Federation
for the Blind had never heard of this software and they are still champing at
the bit for me to write a report on how it does or does not work. I had so
much to do that I haven't gotten around to it. That's why they are still after
me even at this writing.

As for using Med-Wright in a DOS box, I do not know about that. I use
WordPerfect Corel 7.0 with Stedman's Medical Speller. I have found these two
software programs to be the most JFW friendly. I would like to know more about
what that client requires. If the client absolutely requires Med-Write, this
person would be better off using VocalEyes for that software because of memory
allocation constraints. If the client can get away with it, he/she would be
better off using WordPerfect 7.0 or 8.0 or Microsoft Wor 97 or 2000 if that
works. What version of JFW does this person have? If it would not be too much
to ask, what is the software required by the contractor?
