Text adventures are traditionally DOS-based games wherein you play a
character in a story. Perhaps you are trying to solve a crime, or kill the
evil wizard, or survive your crash landing on an alien planet.
You direct the game by typing various commands that the program recognizes.
Fir instance, you can move from place to place by typing "n" for north,
"e" for east, etc. You can take things, do things and even say things.
They're a lot of fun, and some of them are very challenging.
MUSHing is a bit harder to explain. It stands for multi-user, shared
hallucination. In many respects it plays like a text adventure, but you
play with many other people simultaneously moving through the world,
controling their characters and helping to set up stories.
