Microsoft Y2K Resource C D

Hi all,
I have spoken with a kinowledgeable party who suggested that  third party
software has caused sever as in major negative  problems after the user
installed and used the Y2 K resource C D. I just  received mine in the mail.
Have any of you used this free C D from Microsoft?
Were there any problems?
I was warned to wait until any third party software conflicts are resolved.
