Hi,
The Acrobat reader reads files which are created in the Portable Document
Format (PDF). PDF files are used by many software manufacturers (Dragon)
for example to display the software documentation contained on the CD ROM.
This format is used because it can contain an image which looks very much
like the printed document including drawings, graphics etc. The plugin is
used to convert these PDF files into something which is text-based so it
can be read with a screen reader. You actually can produce PDF documents
if you get the correct software from Adobe. I can't think of a real good
reason why a blind person would want to do this though because PDF files
are certainly not easily readable in the PDF format. Hope this helps.
