Listers,
I am more then likely going to transfer my entire i.d.e. Samson 8.4 hard
drive to a quantum Viking 4.5 ultra wide scsi drive. I have tried using "EV
move" on my small system to take off the key, but it wouldn't allow the key
to move off the hard drive even with the exact correct floppy in the gate.
Jfw one day over the phone gave me five new keys by having me type some
numbers into the floppy or where ever it was aimed at, and low and behold,
there they were, five new keys. Could it be that the key file is full and
this is why when trying to put a sixth key onto the floppy it wouldn't take?
I think it would be important to move the key off the Samson c drive
before making it my new d: drive backup drive, and then when I install my
ultra wide scsi to put the key back on.
Can some one direct me in this project so when it comes time to actually
do this, I am prepared. The last thing I want are questions while in the
middle of this. I don't want to get stuck!
Please, if anybody knows what program is a good program, or if just
"X-copy" is a good way to transfer information complete like an exact
mirror to another drive, I'd appreciate knowing, plus how to remove the
key, put it back in place on the new c: drive.
Lastly, since I have to drives one for c, other as d:, do I need two keys
one on each drive to make this work?
thanks and grateful for help,
Scott
