I too am having problems with the windows media program. Yes it plays wav
sounds, but if I go into my wav folder just to listen to a couple of wavs,
maybe if I want to change a sound scheme or something, I will click on a
wav sound, it will play, but then it doesn't shut itself off. You must hit
alt/f4 after each time you use the media player.
I do remember with windows95, this problem didn't exist. Well, it did, but
the fix was to into view in my computers, up to options, to wav files,
choose a few more options and rename a command line, something like
c:\windows\media player\mediaplayer.exe /play /stop. This worked, but
doesn't any longer. Can you possibly know how to make it so media closes
after playing a wav?
