I tried to silence the page down key. Here is what I did:
opened the configuration manager with insert key and 6;
went to keyboard options under user options;
highlighted the list item called (next);
tabbed to (mute toggle) option and pressed the space bar:
tabbed to the okay button and pressed the enter key;
pressed control key and the letter (s) to save and then alt key plus f4 to
exit the configuration manager.
The page down key still speaks. I checked on the list of keys under the
keyboard options under user options in the configuration manager and found
that the key in question, namely the page down key, is marked (mute).
I unloaded and reloaded JAWS and the situation hasn't changed.
What did I do wrong?
Sorry for the lengthy message. I only want to save the time and effort that
may be wasted in suggesting things that I have already done.
