I don't believe that the lack of accessibility problem is with HJ. It has
become quite evident that the problem is with Intuit. I am currently in
contact with Intuit for both Quickbooks and TurboTax, but with little
success. So as you can see, we all need to push Intuit much harder to be
more responsive to blind users of their products.

I knew there had to be someone else using quickbooks other than me. The
most problems that I had was to get the information in to start with. In
the easy step interview the questions are in frames. I tried insert X to
read them, but, it wouldn't read them. So, I tried insert B and this
would read them. It will tell you that it is not a dialog box, but, it
will read the entire screen. I use this a lot to see where I'm at. I
also, use insert F1 to tell me if I'm on a check box or radio buttons. I
just wish it would say if the check boxes were checked or not. When I'm in
the edit fields I use insert home to read any titles to the left and route
JAWS to PC to read any that may be above. It's like going from your elbow
to your nose, but, you have to switch elbows first!
The QB 5.0 that you are using is not Y2K compliant. I just installed QB
6.0 two weeks ago. I am a subscriber to the tax table service and they
sent a free up-date to me. You may want to check on this. Everything I
have here is now Y2K ready. I keep the books for five companies and I
don't want them looking for me when their money is gone!
My computer teacher will be here tomorrow and I will talk to him about the
macros that you have. I'll let you know what we decide. I like the way
that Quickbooks keeps my books. It is a very good system. I think Henter
Joyce should spend a little more time on making JAWS work better with it.
