A few weeks ago, I reported on billpaynet.com as a bill paying site that
was accessible. Well, I found a new one that is even better. I have heard
advertisements on the net for paytrust.com, and I went to it with home page
reader and was having troubles, but I decided on a whim to use ie5 with jfw
and wineyes 3.1 to access the site. Wow!!! This site is actually pretty
great. JFW users may have small difficulties with the forms, but overall,
it is very accessible. I haven't tested it with other screen readers,
somebody may want to do this and report back. While billpaynet is
still great, the service is limitted as to whom you can pay. The billers
hav to be on their list. That is my only problem with the service, except
that they do not present your bills online, you still need sighted help or
a scanner to read the bills. paytrust.com, however presents your bills
online on their web site. The service charge is $7.95 for 20payments and a
nominal fee for more than that. It works with your existing bank, so if
your bank doesn't do online banking, or your online banking is
inaccessible, this is an alternative. All you have to do is sign up on
their site and send in a voided checkw tih a confirmation form that they
send you. If the bill collector you need isn't on their list, just add the
information manually. When a bill is due, you will get an email, and you go
to their site and examine the bill there and pay it online. You don't get
paper bills anymore, paytrust gets all your billers to send them the bills
either electronically or through postal mail and they will scan the bill
into the system if they have to. The site has high and low res options, so
the low res should be great with screen re3aders. And you can download
billing info directly into quicken, money, or excel if you need to. The
downside? billpaynet costs 25 cents per bill as opposed to paytrust's 7
bucks a month, and you have to do some manual mailing, I was able to set up
billpaynet without sending in voided checks. I know there is something
else, but I can't remember it right now. If you want to see it for

the company, it just looks like a really viable option for the blind. They
are running a promotion for the first three months free.
