Hi linda: I had the same problem with a sony that uses a neomagic 256 card. Make sure the display= statement in your c:\windows\system.ini file says "display=pnpdrvr.drv". This should solve the problem. Also, my sony came with a recovery disk that allowed you to reinstall or update your drivers, so see if she has something like that.
