this probably isn't a JFW problem, but a Word annoyance. My guess is that
you have choice y, Replace symbol characters (--) with Symbols) checked on
the Autoformat as you Type dialog box. You can get to this from a few
places, one of which is Tools, AutoCorrect, then go to the AutoFormat as
you Type page. Uncheck that and see if you're still experiencing the
behavior. The AutoFormat as you Type feature can cause unexpected and
unwanted results unless you know exactly what you want; I think I have
almost all those boxes unchecked. I prefer doing my own formatting, thank you!
