Well, I guess I got used to hearing some text spoken when highlighting
everything. My strategy was always to silence speech as soon as I heard
something spoken. I do see your point, though. If this was intentionally
changed, perhaps a toggle could be in place so the user could decide whether
they wished to hear anything when selecting all text. This would, in my
opinion, be useful info to hear, particularly for a novice user who would
like confirmation that the selection of all files has worked. I've noticed
that when I execute a keystroke, sometimes it doesn't take, and there is no
way of knowing this if something is not verbalized. An example of this is
on rare occasions, using a hotkey to load a program does not work. That's
why I think some speech is helpful. Another suggestion would be to have
only the first file in a list read, rather than all of them. As you know,
with Windows, there are a number of approaches that can be employed.
