Good morning JFW listers.
What many of us assume to be specific to Eudora, with respect to the say
all command, is not, from my perspective, unique to that application. Say
all is a very difficult and tricky function to implement because
applications appear to differ, when running under screen readers, with
regard to how willing they are to have their cursors pulled here and there.
Since the inception of Jaws for Windows, I have either heard of, or
experienced myself, numerous problems with the say all function, something
HJ may not have given sufficient attention to. For me, the problem is most
apparent with Eudora, I using JFW3.2 and Eudora 4.1. Either lines are
annoyingly repeated or, more frequently, reading halts unexpectedly,
normally when blank lines are encountered. I very much hope that HJ
developers will give further attention to improving the performance of
their say all function that may require more code, including run-time
tests, as new releases are produced.
