Hi Kevin
I am in the same situation in regards to that piece of junk
from Lotus. I got a response from H.J. on some similar
problems and the problems are in Notes, not JFW. Mine occur
randomly on sending or refreshing (F9) and I get the same
result, punch the power off and restart.
My systems staff almost got Outlook 98 working with the
Notes junk, it required having Notes running as well as
Outlook, but I still got error messages from Outlook because
of folder and view problems, however, I could send and
receive messages.
I was the last person in my area to be forced to use Notes,
and I have not yet met anyone who does not hate Lotus Notes.
It's like being given a triple dose of Ex-Lax for hay
fever.<G>
The only thing I have found the least bit helpful is to
disregard the instructions in the JFW help file on Notes
regarding renaming the jfwkeybd.vxd file, that only made JFW
behave strangely in other apps and the only offerings I
found in the Alt key menus in Notes were also available on
the drop down menus.
It is somewhat ironic that IBM makes a screen reader, has a
web site with suggestions on how developers can make their
programs accessible, and Notes is such an accessibility
disaster.

Good luck (to all of us using Notes)
Mark

Subject: JFW 3.3135 and Lotus Notes crashes

Hi listers.

I sent this note off to HJ, so while I'm waiting for a
response, let me
explain my trouble.

I am using JFW 3.3135 with Lotus Notes 5. JFW is a little
sluggish in the
program, but I can live with that.

The problem is when I attempt to do very basic things, I get
the magical red
box error. There are three things I can say for certain.
JFW quits
speaking, my system will often crash, and Whether the system
crashes or not,
the PC must be rebooted to run Notes.

My PC is a Pentium 200 with 96 MB of RAM and Win 95, so
resources shouldn't
be a problem. I got this error consistently when trying to
send an
attachment.

I use Notes for my job, and these crashes are making me less
productive.

I could go into some details on other subjects, but right
now the only thing
I really want is help. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
