What JFW knows as ANSI characters are usually accented foreign-language keys
or unusual signs.  Every alphanumeric key has an ANSI value, and there are
also characters that don't have English'language alphanumerics applicable to
them.  (Thus, for instance, ANSI233 =French e accute).  In normal
English-language discourse, therefore, it isn't necessary to have ANSI
characters displayed.  They may also have technical uses with which I am not
familiar, e.g., when you go into the JAWS Home Row Mode.
