Hello There,
I was the one that used Encarta 96 in both, Windows using JAWS, and OS/2
using the screen reader for OS/2. Then, I was able to use the Enncarta 97
only in Windows 95. Not anymore in OS/2
The fastest way to look for an item was by pressing the Control plus F to
bring up the find what menu. Then I would type the name of person, or item
of interest. then hit the enter key.
I hope this helps.
I don't have the 98, so I cannot tell you either way.
Regards,
Agustin.

Subject: Encyclopedias: Encarta 98
Hi, Listers,
the other day, somebody reported having successfully used Encarta 96 and 97
with JFW. Now I hopefully installed Encarta 98 on my system but found taht
I could not even acces the menu bar. According to sighted assistence, an
<alt> and <letter> brought me into the menu bar and opened the menus, but
jfw did not read anything nor did arrow keys seem to work. When reading
over the menu bar with the jaws cursor, jfw announced buttons for the menu
headings.
I am using jfw 3.2 here.
Has anybody gotten Encarta 98 to work with jfw with any degree of success?
Are there scripts out for it?
If you feel this should not take up bandwidth on the list, please email me
privately.
Cheers,
Doris
