The difficulty you are having with the spell check in Word 97 is because
the choice the program goes to is the Ignore command.  So, when you
highlight a word and press enter, you are selecting Ignore, which does,
indeed, move to the next misspelled word, but does not change the
previous one.
Once you have highlighted the word you wish to change to, you must then
tab to the change button before you press enter.
