One thing that would greatly help in standardizing the use of chat
programs is access to Java with JFW. This way, people don't have to acquire
scores of chat programs just to appease particular chat forums. The lack of
standardization is very annoying to me. I have ten friends, for example,
each of whom is encouraging me to get a particular voice-chat application.
Already I have 5 chat applications on my computer. Also, with my own chat
room, I have the ability to enable Java, so that one can simply click on a
link and not even need ICQ. Unfortunately, the Java applet is inaccessible
with JFW.
So access to Java would be a great help.
