Hi All,
It seems the latest update to Outlook Express has an annoying option that
allows the sender of a message to request a Message Received receipt from
whoever reads that message! It is extremely annoying feature when used on a
group list like this one. After having some really bad and disrespectful
thoughts about the sender's heritage whenever having to answer "No" to such
a prompt, I was surprised to hear that prompt on a message I had sent to the
list! Apologizing to myself for the name-calling, I went on a search for
the root cause of this annoying feature. Here is what I found:

When using the Windows Update feature from that site, it updated my Outlook
Express' Options, adding another panel/tab named "Receipts".
That dialog, (accessed with an Alt+T for the Tools menu, then "O" for
Options, then Control+Tab to the dialog titled "Receipts"), has two items,
which should be set to:
Uncheck the "Request a receipt for all sent messages." This will keep you
from annoying others, and selecting the option, "Never send a Read Receipt"
will keep others from annoying you!

How about taking a few minutes to check for these items in your Outlook
Express Options so you don't have someone muttering disparaging remarks
about your linage!<g>
