Hi everybody, About two weeks ago I downloaded eudora 4.3. It works pretty good with jfw 3.2, but it's a good idea to change some settings to make it easier. I used to work with eudora Light 3.0.1, so I don't know anything about eudora 4.2, but maybe 4.3 is much the same as eudora 4.2, so I thought it could help to send this to this mailinglist. A few suggestions for settings in eudora so that may work better with jfw: In the options menu (alt+T, than O), you can change the following settings: NB: In this menu you choose a categorie first, then go with tab to its contents. - viewing mail: in eudora 4.3 messages are automatically read with MSviewer. You better don't do that. so don't mark use microsoft viewer (go to viewing mailboxes and press tab once for the MSviewer option). If you put it on, you can't go through the text with the PC-Cursor, I couldn't read the text at all with MSviewer on. - viewing mail: optionally: you can also turn off the preview pane. If you use the preview pane, you select the message you'd like to read, go with tab to the body of the mail or press enter. If you don't use it, you select the message you want to read, than press enter. - mailboxes: if you wish, you can mark "close messages with mailbox". - Spell check. I still haven't find a way to work with that -besides, I'm Dutch and eudora 4.3 is still a beta versoin, so there is no Dutch spell check availabele-. If you don't want spell check, press five times shift+tab and mark "only when requested". NB: if you want, you can put the taskbar, status bar, toolbar etc. off, alt+T, O for options, go to display, with tab you go to the list were you can mark the bars you want to see. If you want to use filters in eudora, please note the filter window consists of 2 frames, so first you press tab, or alt+N, to create a new filter, than F6 to go to the properties. In eudora 4.3 the following "problem" exists: if you want to define an action, you can't just press tab once, after choosing the action. First you have to pres tab five times (I don't know f there are people who use a braille device with jfw, that makes it easier here). Last but not least: I had to label the statussymbols -read, unread, replied etc.-. After I'd done that, it worked just fine.. I hope this has been useful. If there are any questions, let me know. You could also try to contact eudora if you have any questions or problems: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hester ------------------------------ From: steve burel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 17 Dec 1999 06:59:33 -0500 Subject: jfw and eudora 4.2 Hi Folks, This new Eudora 4.2 seems to work with jfw , except it doesn't behave like 4.0.1 much at all. Are there some settings in the options menu I need to be aware of to make it work better with JFW? I gave up, and went back to 3.0.5. I wish I could figure out how to get it to work as well as 3.0.5.
