It isn't the burner's compatibility you need to worry about, but the
software that is used to burn with! JFW works with the Adaptec EZ CD
Creator-line of burning software, as well as the ToGo software that I
received with my first Mitsumi CR2600 burner. I now have a Mitsumi 4802
CDRW 24x4x4, and am using the Adaptec CD Deluxe v4.0 with no problems. I
hear the HP burner is a good one, if you're looking for SCSI.
