Drought , disease, displacement, death, disaster in TRIBAL(Adivasi) Areas
1. From a long time this has become the word apt for the tribals of ORISSA ,
JHARKHAND, AND CHHATISGARH.
2. The population of adivasis in Assam is more than the population of adivasis
in Jharkhand.The adivasis of Assam, Uttar Bengal and Andamans have not been
acclaimed as adivasis yet.
3. There are many adivasai who stay in Orissa and Bengal and have purposely not
been included in Jharkhand.
4.The area occupied by the adivasis, all over the world , is rich in minerals.
5. The CORPORATE WORLD has speeded up it's attack on the adivasis to capture
their land and minerals.
6.The adivasis of JHARKHAND have revolted since the end of the 18th century.
7.A large number of adivasi candidates were elected by the people of undivided
BIHAR in the mid 19th century for the BIHAR LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY.
8.The 19th century wittnessed the surrender of the adivasi leaders to the
ruling class of INDIA.
9.The adivasi population never surrendered.
10. Between 1915 and 1920 many adivasis of JHARKHAND and ORISSA were deported
to the ANDAMAN ISLANDS.
11.SEZ PROPOSALS caused a loss of land and livlihood specially to the adivasis.
12.The formation of JHARKHAND saw a rise in women and girls being sent to the
metropolitan cities and abroad to work as maid servants. In fewer words
trafficking caused their torture.
13.In independent INDIA the GOVERNERS have not made proper use of their rights
regarding the tribal issue.
14.Adivasis of JHARKHAND have always been associated with menial jobs like
RICKHAW PULLING ,WOODCUTTING,VEGETABLE SELLING,WORKING IN BRICK KILNS AND STONE
QUARRYING AND OTHER BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION WORKS where they are exploited
relentlessly.
15.Violating the CNT(chothnagpur tenancy act) and SPT(santhal pargana tenancy
act) acts, the land mafia has captured a large part of adivasis land.
16.The inactiveness and COLONIAL OUTLOOK of the government laws has seperated
the adivasis from their land. Land records are not maintained . According to
the census the adivasis have been regarded as hindus which decreases their
recorded population.
17.MNC's ,TGS and the corporate world has purchased the judicial system of
INDIA.
