Dear friends,
This is to bring to the kind notice of the all conscious people that an
incidence of silence death is in underway for the last several years in the
village of Terenga on Jaduguda Musaboni road where a silica dust producing
plant under dual names K K Minerals & K K Sales have been bringing death to the
door steps of the said affected villages silently.
It is evident after a short visit at the said plant which was established in
vicinity of the residential areas like Terenga, Purnapani and Kendadih
violating the norms set by the Central Pollution Controll Board and there is no
environmental safeguards nor any workers health protective measures yet adopted
by the company itself which is the gross violation of the factory act 1948.
The gross apathy of the concerned government agencies not only widens the
prospects of large scale death but also remain a mute witness to the future of
the bereaved family members. The said affected villagers are mainly tribal,
OBCs'and Muslims. The village is fast turning into a graveyard and all the
greens of the adjoining areas are fast becoming arid lifeless barren zone . The
death trap makes the Terenga village full of widowed household and this number
is increasing by geometrical progression.
The scenario has become grimmer in the absence of any role of nonperforming
factory inspector, local government and any political parties and established
trade unions. It is noteworthy that the said killer factory sited under Bihar
government workers started in the NDA regime & the number of dead workers
increased up to twenty-two ( may be more ) with additional many more standing
in the queue in present UPA government.
We have supporting document in the form of a documentary showing the live
interview of the silicosis victims all were the employee of the said plant
victims of the same disease and all of whom died later.
You will be pleased to know that Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum has said
that he would set up a joint enquiry committee comprising labour, pollution
control board, health, factory inspector and local administration and after
coming up with the report of the silicosis victims would get justice
accordingly.
A due coverage in your TV channel, journal and website and your support at any
form would highly be appreciated as it will help us to establish their
legitimate rights as compensation and complete rehabilitation of the deceased's
family members.
