The Great Tradition of India is nothing but an amalgamation of the thousands
of little (adivasi) traditions and the 'alien' knowledge.
In fact to call this Great Tradion a 'religion' in modern sense is a naive
attitude.
We are not religious in that sense.
We don't follow a single text and a single god.
For Indian tradition, all alien humans were gods, in super-human sense by
their virtues.
Truely, God or the Power is beyond the comprehension of all intelligent
existence in Cosmos.
You can't reduce that power to humans or aliens.
Upanishads make it clear that the 'absolute' is incomprehensible to mortal
existence.
But, we all have enlightened masters who represent that cosmic power of light
and love.
Wherever there is no light, there is darkness.
Darkness or evil has no existence as such. It's only the absense of light.
(You can measure light but not darkness)
True religion is not based on a single god or dogma, but on love and humanity.
India had also experienced the brahmin dogma and the monstrous 'Manu'.
  Then, Buddha was the answer.
The Great Tradition has creatively assimilated every ideology and showed the
tolerent way of life to us. That's why there is unity in diversity.
  This is in our DNA.
Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life.
