You are absolutely right.

Primitive was a derogatory term adopted by the Western to term non- western
culture, beliefs, people's vis a vis to their own supposedly highly
developed civilization/religion etc.

We Indians should have disposed of these terms upon independence, but that
never came about because today's India and Indian intellectual are an
inferior version of their western masters and copy cats of everything west.
The foundations of modern India was laid by Jawahlala Nehru who had least
respect or consideration for anything indigenuous. So everything that is
local -- is considered primitive.

The writers who tend to adopt such terms are generally very westernized,
de-Indianized and not in touch with their Indian roots. So only the
semitic, monotheistic beliefs and culture are considered modern. So all
tribal, Hindu, beliefs are looked down upon and made fun of.

It is high time we take these pseudo people from their high pedestals.
Rashmi internet is a great tool. I would suggest you get a team of people
to immediately shoot off letters whenever they write such which is often.
We should not not let them go lightly.

Today tribal folks, many of them repositories of ancient knowledge,
something which is fast disappearing from this world. We need to reverse
this trend.

Venkat.
