Reservation for Scheduled Castes and tribes was introduced by Ambedkar for a
period of 10 years, as he expected that in ten years, the first batches would
reach the Matriculation levels, and further reservations won't be necessary.
Same with Govt. jobs: Read what Ambedkar writes:

Ambedkar to Madhok: Quote-On another occasion, we were talking about the issue
of reservation for Scheduled Castes. Ambedkar told me that as long as Scheduled
Caste people would depend upon crutches of reservation, they would not be able
to stand on their legs. He wanted them to stand on their own and rub shoulders
with upper caste compatriots with confidence and self-respect. Therefore, he
was opposed to extension of statutory reservation after 10 years. He had stated
this in the manifesto of the Republican Party that he founded. According to it,
the party was committed to abolition of reservations of any kind.-Unquote

Jawaharlal Nehru wrote to all Chief Ministers (Jawaharlal Nehru, Letters to
Chief Ministers 1947-1964-Vol5, Oxford University Press,1989-pp-456-457) that
reservations should be abolished after 10 years as SC/ST would be in crutches
and would not be able to progress under freeships/preferences.

The SC/ST have been getting the benefit of reservations in jobs up to 27% since
60 years, free food, stay and education and scholarships as well as subsidised
loans from SC Development Corporations, Special Component Plan, Tribal
Development Plan..etc. for doing business..etc.

If a Community could not come up in two generations, the first beneficiries
already in superannuation, in 60 years of "free lunch", how long do you think
will be required for the group to enjoy reservations for progress of the
Community?

An individual will never put efforts either in studies or in job, when he is
assured of freeships everywhere and he has godfathers to protect him right from
JagJivan Ram, as no action could be taken against any SC/ST employee for even
gross indiscipline and absence, refusal to work or disobedience, and the
officer concerned on the other hand is rebuked for "Casteism"!!

If some upper Castes have come up with fake SC/ST Certificates, it is the
rampant corruption among the officers concerned, often Dalits themselves, whose
main objective is make a few lakhs within the first five years of service
How could you improve the system for screening such abuse?

The Central and State Govts. consist of app. 67% of Dalits including OBC-s as
Ministers and bureaucratic levels. Brahmins could be hardly 2-3%. Why do you
blame these miniscule Brahmins for all the ills of Society when the Community
is already chased out of the Country denied admissions and jobs in India due to
reservations. Why are Brahmins holding high positions in West starting from
South Indian Brahmin Nooyi the highest paid Chairman of Pepsi?

Do you know that several poor Brahmin families are doing scavenging jobs in
Delhi carrying the nightsoil on their heads, as the children were denied
admissions as they were "forward" caste decades back!!

A Dalit Surgeon in a Govt. hospital, on finding that he was not getting cases
of surgery referred to him, wrote to the Govt. to allot/ reserve 25% of
surgeries in the hospital to be performed by Dalit surgeons!! Who will go to
him, who has studied with just pass marks without merit and who might kill the
patient without knowing the subject? WOULD MINISTERS AND MP-S FIRST GO TO HIM
FOR TREATMENT?

It is high time all these reservations are abolished and the deserving are
financed fully for their living and studies at whatever levels, without
compromising on the merits. IT IS TO THE DISADVANTAGE OF THE DALITS/OBC-s
THEMSELVES THAT RESERVATIONS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED IN IIT/IIM/AIIMS..etc. AS THE
SELECTORS WOULD HAVE THE CV MENTIONING THE STATUS OF THE CANDIDATE AS A
RESERVED ONE, AND WOULD BE ELIMINATED AT PRELIMINARIES ITSELF!!
