For those who cannot follow Tamil the gist is here. Melvisaram is a village in the Arcot area of Tamilnadu with a muslim majority. there is a Hindu colony 'Rajathipuram' which is totally neglected by the Muslims. The Village council is not existent and there is no election. Usually they are from the ruling party of the state . The Rajathipuram people do not know what is going on in their own panchayat. A prominent political activist of PMK hails from this Hindu colony and he was murdered recently and the culprit was never found and he was suspected to be saved by the muslims, co0nverted to islam and is said to lead a good life. The Hindus are denied any facilities. It is only the jamaath that decides everything- not the panchayat. The muslim areas and Hindu areas are so starkly different from each other the former is clean and rich and the latter dirty and poor. Venkat
