All the hue and cry for a small car project of about 1000 crore is the
creation of media hype.

There are several MoUs worth about 4 to 5 lakhs rupees in the states of
Jharkhand, Orissa and also Chhattisgarh. Tata is also a party to there.
Despite not a single inch of land could be acquired by any of the project
proponent, despite there are serious disputes and problems in land related
matters be it for POSCO or Even Tata, at Orissa, and also tribals at
Chhattisgarh are up in arms with Tatas not to give an inch of their land for
the greenfield steel plant project. All these projects are ranging from
10,000 Crore to as high as 56,000 Crore but there is hardly any noice but at
SINGUR, entire world knows what has happened.

Now after Tatas have moved west to Gujarat, [mind it, they have not left
Singur] Mamta is painted as a villain.
But she has won the hearts of the farmers all over the country, including
that of West Bengal. All those who are not to make any sacrifieces but to
enjoy the fruits at the sacrifices are after the blood of Mamta. There is
much more water in the river Hooghly to flow.

I fully endorse the views of Raktim Mukhopadhyay that the media is silent on
the cruel joke made with the farmers whose rights are bluntly intruded as
well as they were exposed to state sponsored acts of brutality on innocent
farmers of Singur who are not interested to part with their land. Let us see
how the sponsored media reports are going to sing the song of Tatas.
