Dea Radhika, I used to think the same as you about Tata and the likes...but recently what I discovered we all must see that too.(while i teach Indian Ethos to Management students) I gave an assignment to the students to visit various corporate offices to find out the philosophy, vision, mission and the staff welfare schemes, policies and the Corporate Social Responsibility that they have and implement. It was an eye opener for me to know that a number of organisations have various schemes on paper and the motto and vision so beautifully carved in the lounges, with shlokas from our vedas beautifully displayed but in reality that was not the truth. But for TATA's ..Honestly there is yet to come another corporate org. at par with how much funds they funnel out for social cause...I was totally dumbfounded and gradually developing respect for Ratan Tata who does what he says...i think what happened in Singur is Mamata Banerjee's shortsighted ness for which the poor residents have to suffer for...mukul
