I fully agree with Shamsul Islam's view of treating Muslims as a ' monolithic whole'. In fact this what we Indians are vulnerable to: making generalisations based on religious and ethnic communities. This is where as Professor Anil Sadgopal has pertinently pointed out, communalists rule the roost and a hysterical campaign is vitriolicly launched against one community. This is totally wrong and perfidious. Indian Muslims are as Indian as, any other Indians.
