Let us be realistic. Not only mining, but, agriculture is also a nature killer, destroyer of forests. So the adivasi is threatened. Agriculture is the first step towards civilization and involves destruction of forest land. Many of today's farmers , warriors and even brahmins were adivasis yesterday. Now, no one is a true adivasi in the real sense. They need the term for a miriad purposes, including self pity, political and cultural identity . Harijan Venkat
