One of the main reasons failure of Indian governance in the post independence era is the continuation of the IAS cadre. They manage to swallow highest salaries ,wield unassigned powers, enjoy cryptic powers,amass large amounts of properties with no responsibility. It is high time that IAS cadre is abolished and suitable professionals are appointed for the positions of secretaries and chairpersons of other committees. IAS cadre is a ploy disocvered and handed over to India by British. They must be laughing at our foolishness. KSRao
