Just wanted to point out to Venkit , apropos his remark that "Democracy existed long ago in India. It was not introduced by the west", the writer actually said : Jesus (held up but)... the forerunner to socialism, social justice, secularism and democracy. There was no claim that Jesus introduced or initiated any o these concepts. Second, and more importantly, Jesus was not a westerner - he was Asian, albeit a "west" Asian.
