Dear Friends, Here is a great concern for all of us to see how the State has been consistently appeasing and bothering for the lavish Corporate and so called ancient Rajas, Maharajas and Thekedars interests by ignoring its constitutional duties to take care of its marginalised socially oppressed Prajas. It has been constantly engaging the casteist fanatics and intellectually and logically bankrupt interests groups and individuals to decided the destiny of the development of the socially, economically and politically oppressed masses of this nation. The State has been constantly mortgaging its constitutional mandate and duties for the socially oppressed people to those who have been leading and glorifying the "customs" like Sati and untouchability through their political process and through their informal caste networks like Brahman Mahasabha, Rajput Mahasangha, Vaniya Mahasangha, Vaisya Mahasangha in the name of "personal relations" by holding constitutional mandate and oath not to publicly contradict the oaths taken under the Constitution convention by holding in public office and legislative positions. At all levels they are trying to perpetuate the same uncivilised and savage traditions of oppression and slavery. "Merits" and "efficiency" have been taken as escape without looking to the ground reality of honesty, commitment and efficiency. Read the history of under performance and representation of the so-callled socially and intellectually efficient and brilliant before the mission for selling of public sector undertakings and government enterprises. Who were leading them in the name of liberalisation. Who were leading these enterprises and big offices? See the facts without any imaginative interpretation. How many bureaucrats and top level management officers and professionals were from these socially marginalised groups?? Why these enterprises were making loss to the public exchequer despite enjoying the luxurious amenities and avenues? Why a new ministry was created in the name of disinvestment? Where those so called generic meritorious, briliants and efficient peoples and their knowledge has gone? An assess in the public office also tell us who is much loyal to its office and duties?
The uncivilised language remarks and estranged environment created n work place for the officers and employees including women of these socially marginalised communities by the so called culturally and socially superior social categories are perpetual and strengthening. This is rampant in public offices,iIf one ask its heart it will definitely tell these reality to the larger proportion of people, except some few progressive and unconditionally compassionate people. I just want to share a point on affirmative action and facilities provided for the students in education and higher learning. Take an example of the provisions of the Post Matric Scholarship which is indeed a very small and insufficient amount in the presently lavish world. See now all the professional education and mushrooming of management and engineering colleges and institutions of Odisha, through which all the STSC are entitled to get their post matric scholarships provided by the STSC development department to partly support their essential expenses. Because majority of the students from these communities can not afford to support their expense and even many of those are suppressing their dream since most of these institutions are only doing business with highly admission and tuition fees. The scholarship is purely provided by the State and not by these private professional institutions or government primer institutions and universities. These institutions are not bothering on this aspects, except a very very few that to with lot of running through here to there, with positive attitude to help in these student in getting matric scholarship. The already socially oppressed students, many of them, do not dare to argue to enquire fearing their career results and harassment. Many of these professions institutions and universities are intentionally harassing these students and consistently ignoring the affirmative majors provided by the government. There have been also examples of victimisation of the students of the marginalised social groups in the hands of those chauvinist elements therefore suppressing the democratic voice of dissent and fundamental rights. However, I hope these mindset should go and many of the progressive and compassionate people, born in upper social background, would definitely oppose the conspiring move of the government under the leadership of Sri Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office and Minister of State Personnel, Public grievances and Pension.
