Sub- Invitation on the Occasion of Release of Orissa State Report, ASER 08 Dear Sir /Madam ASER (Annual Status of Education Report) is a citizen’s initiative to understand the status of elementary education in India .Facilitated by Pratham, the first ASER focused on rural districts and was carried out in November-December of 2005.The aim was to monitor basic educational outcomes (eg.are children in School or not, are they able to read write and do basic arithmetic) on annual basis in each districts. We also hope that in each district the local group who participated in ASER would widely disseminate the findings within the government and among citizens as well as seek opportunities for helping to improve the educational situation in the district as well as state Pratham Odisha is organizing the release of Orissa State Report ASER 2008 on the 24th February 2009 at CYSD Auditorium at 9.30 am as per the tentative agenda.
