The eclipse plugin stores the project properties in the workspace metadata
folder. This means that every developer has to change the settings in every
project where we use the plugin. If the settings were stored in a file in the
projects (either a file starting with a period or in the .settings folder) then
they could be checked in and automatically set when the project is checked out.
