If you have concrete class as collection object like ArrayList, it will work.
Don't know if it is possible to unmarshal into an interface typed property.

I was wondering if it was possible to unmarshal directly into a List object?
I currently have a POJO called TrafficTicket and I have an XML string
returned from a web service that is basically a list of traffic tickets.
Can I unmarshall directly into a List<TrafficTicket> object? Or do I have to
set up another class like below?
