Going OT again, but if of interest, this didn’t work. I installed the 8 release from the web page. It did download the OS X dmg and seemed to install fine. /usr/libexec/java_home /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_65.jdk/Contents/Home However, java -version openjdk version "1.9.0-internal" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.9.0-internal-mjh_2015_11_15_10_18-b00) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.9.0-internal-mjh_2015_11_15_10_18-b00, mixed mode) I am OK with 9, I haven’t had any problems related to it’s use yet for the jdk. But it seems I have to now maintain the jdk going forward through manual builds? Michael Hall
