This adds a small piece of code in Go. I think this should have been mentioned in the KIP as adding a new language is something worth discussing. I understand Go is well suited for this use case but it would have been nice to compare with Java. For example, if we're only shaving a few milliseconds I'm not sure introducing a new language in the repository is necessarily worth it.
