This fails when the new protocol/consumer are used, with
java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke
"com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.JsonNode.get(String)" because "keyNode" is null
Not sure if it's a bug that needs fixing or if the test needs to be updated to
successfully run with group.protocol=CONSUMER
