According to the discussion in the mailing list, there is no will to backport this to 3.9. This will be available in 4.0 which also drops support for Zookeeper based coordination which is a no-go for a lot of projects so I guess that Kafka won't support JDK23+ in the meantime -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
