It feels a bit weird that we don't take `lastCommittedOffset` into
consideration here. It works because `lastCommittedOffset` is `MAX_VALUE` when
`requireStable` is `true` but it still feel weird. Have you considered using
`lastCommittedOffset` in order to be consistent with `groupOffsets`?
