   @shashankhs11 : Thanks for the explanation. I understood the intention now. 
The test configured a large BATCH_SIZE_CONFIG in Streams producer to force a 
split. The test now fails for me locally.

   I think this is because we fixed 
https://github.com/apache/kafka/pull/20358/files which removed the infinite 
loop during splitting. To force the producer error in the test, we will need to 
set 
[max.message.bytes](https://kafka.apache.org/documentation/#topicconfigs_max.message.bytes)
 to smaller than the produced record.
