Review Comment:
Hmm I think we need to do a lot more work to make
`inFlightBatchMessageCount` metrics more accurately, because this metric
doesn't update when records transition between `AVAILABLE`、`ACKNOWLEDGED` and
`ARCHIVED`. In other words, this metric is always aligned with batch boundaries
by design. Therefore, I'm inclined to keep the current implementation. WDYT?
