I don't think we can work on this ticket atm – bumping the major version of
RocksDB is a backward incompatible change and we can only do this for a major
Kafka release, and there are not plans yet to bump the version to 3.0.0.
[~axitkhurana] To get started, maybe look for tickets labeled as "newbie" or
"beginner".
