greetings- since this was a popular bug (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6561) to vote for fixing, I thought I'd post a forum thread about it.
I completed work on support for MusicIP on Squeezeplay (and by extension the Squeezebox Controller) today. The behavior is as follows: If a selected item is "mixable" (track/artist/album/genre), press-hold on play will generate a new mix. While the mix is being generated, you'll see the > on the menu item start spinning. After it's completed, a new window with the mix playlist will load (see first screenshot). The top item on the menu will play (or add) this playlist and auto-jump you to the current playlist window. Sometimes there are track/artist/album/genre items that aren't mixable. In this case, a press-hold of play will popup a message that tells you that the item is not mixable. Finally, when drilling into the "songinfo" window for a particular track, there is a separate menu item for creating a MusicIP mix based on that track (see second screenshot). Also note that the track title, artist, album, and genre line items on the songinfo menu all have MusicIP play-hold handlers attached to them. There were changes on both SBC and SC for this: for the SBController, you will need 7.1 >= r2486. Firmware with these changes are being qualified now and should be pushed out within the next 24h. for SqueezeCenter, you will need SC 7.1 trunk >= r19932.
