Thanks Mnyb, I have successfully ran SP on an old laptop using Arch linux and an iBasso D10 USB DAC. Problem is this DAC only runs at 16/44.1 when using the USB interface so I was thinking about buying one of them HRT Streamer+ DACs that seem capable of doing 24/96 over USB as an alternative to the Touch (which also seems to be in permanent beta). I as well as yourself prefer the HW based solution over the PC based one all day long but if SP will play nice with this DAC then I'd go with it since it's available NOW!
