I'm trying to make a Linux distro that will run in VirtualBox/VMWare/Parallels. The reason is because I want to test out plugins/LUA files, and the Windows & Mac Squeezeplay currently have borked filesystem layouts that cause problems with some plugins that need to write data to the filesystem (CustomClock)
I've tried the 10.04 Ubuntu distro, installs great, but am running into problems with Squeezeplay - the animated menus blur across the screen. This happens in Mac (Parallels, VirtualBox), and PC (VirtualBox), so I assume it's the distro doing something wrong. I've downloaded nightlies, and compiled from source - same problem - so I assume there's something up with Ubuntu that's causing problems. So... any distro recommended to run Squeezeplay? It's been a few years since I've done serious Linux work, and Ubuntu has been good for me when I've needed it since then. Thanks! Attached is a screenshot of my troubles - curious how I'm also getting PNG not supported when I installed libPNG (per the compiling instructions) -Dan +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: Clip_38.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9841| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- plympton ------------------------------------------------------------------------ plympton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12955 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78379 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/jive
