Belay that last email (which only went to the list,
not to mstover).
It seems multiple calls to _StringFromFile keep the
same value through the iteration of the thread.
My data is fairly repeditive, so it was hard to tell
what was happening. I just threw 1,2,3,4... into it
and all was clear.
